My Favorite Cleaners

With five kiddos and being a foster mama, I’ve had my share of cleaning (not to mention I often help others clean, too!)

There are lots of amazing cleaners out there, but I’ve never quite found a tub/shower cleaner or a cleaner for those tough times when the tummy bug strikes! Until now…but this cleaner is one I make myself with SIMPLE and CHEAP ingredients!

First, the bodily fluids remover – this cleaner will remove both the stain and odor of vomit, urine, or feces. Probably more. But, these, I’ve had the pleasure of testing it out on. (Ick, I know.)

To make it, you simply need an empty spray bottle, dawn dish soap (the blue kind), hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda.

Mix 2 drops blue dawn dish soap, 2 cups hydrogen peroxide, and 2 tsp baking soda in a spray bottle and you are on your way! Use a white lint-free cloth to clean. This works on upholstery and carpet.

My other favorite is a TUB AND SHOWER CLEANER. Harsh abrasives are tough on tubs, but they are all that I had found that would remove the grime without using lots of scrubbing, and quite frankly, I’m a busy mom of 5 and have better things to do than scrub!

For this cleaner, you only need blue dawn dish soap (must be blue!) and vinegar!. Equal parts of each in a spray bottle. Spray on the shower/tub grime, let it set, and it only needs minimal scrubbing! Even on our toughest grime! Used regularly, you could just spray the grime off with hot water! I, however, tend to not be great at upkeep cleaning!!
